Acupuncture

is one of the oldest, most widely used healing arts in the world. It works with your body’s own energy, which we call “qi” (pronounced chee), and is a safe and gentle way to prevent or recover from a variety of health conditions. Acupuncture involves the insertion of hair thin needles into specific locations on the body, in order to stimulate the body’s natural ability to heal itself. It can remedy acute or chronic ailments, relieve pain, decrease inflammation and strengthen the immune system.

Lisa uses a particular style of acupuncture that combines the most powerful influences from Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and trigger point techniques. Diagnostic tools that are used during the assessment portion of treatment may include: verbal questions, pulse taking, observation of your tongue, and palpation of your abdomen. All of these methods assist in making your diagnosis accurate and your treatment effective.

During your session, the following adjunct techniques may also be used if necessary and upon your consent:

Moxibustion

a soothing heat therapy, perfect for achy or cramping pain

Cupping

another powerful therapy to help relax muscles and relieve pain from tension

Gua Sha

a scraping massage technique meant to loosen up tight muscle knots

Electro-Acupuncture Stimulation

a technique in which electrodes are attached to acupuncture needles, providing a gentle current that effectively treats sharp nerve pain, tingling, and numbness (often found in sciatica)

Topical Herbs & Essential Oils

"Lisa's warmth came through in her email response to my inquiry about starting acupuncture and from my first visit I knew I was in good hands.  Lisa has helped me relieve stress, improve my fertility, and learn how my mind, body, and eating habits impact each other.  I feel better than I have in years and I'm so glad I found Lisa.  I highly recommend her!"  BK

"Lisa is amazing and sweet.  I first went in for pain management, and continue to visit for different things.  Lisa takes a very thorough look at your overall health and it is a check up each time you visit.  She treats many things each time I go, and I usually fall asleep on the table.  It is painless, comfortable and relaxing.  I always leave feeling better than when I came in.  I can't recommend her enough!" JM

"For years, I struggled with periodic bouts of acid reflux.  I tried many over-the-counter conventional and alternative treatments, and nothing really helped.  Eventually it became enough of a problem that my doctor prescribed omeprazole.  Still no real relief.  I had a consult with Lisa, and she gave me an herbal formula, which was the first thing that actually seemed to help.  Eventually, I was back to normal.  Now if I have an occasional recurrence, I go to Lisa for herbs." CL

"In addition, Lisa has helped me with another difficult-to-treat condition known as restless leg syndrome (RLS).  Again, in a case when conventional and other alternative approaches have offered little or no relief, Lisa's herbal treatment helped.  I highly recommend Lisa.  She is friendly, thoughtful, competent, and she helped me in cases when other approaches did not, and for that I'm very thankful!"
