At your first visit
Lisa will conduct a thorough intake evaluation asking questions specific to your main complaint, as well as many questions relevant to your overall health. Please print and fill out the First Visit Form before you arrive.
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and be sure to eat a small meal prior to receiving treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments needed is determined by several factors, including your overall health, severity of symptoms, and response to treatment.
Initially, you can expect to come in for 2-3 treatments, after which Lisa will have a good sense of your progress. A treatment plan that you feel comfortable with will be established at that point.
Is acupuncture safe? Is it painful?
Lisa uses only sterilized and disposable needles, so you can rest assured that your acupuncture treatment is completely safe. Each needle is used only once and disposed of in a sharps bio-hazard container after use. Acupuncture needles are much thinner than standard hypodermic needles used by phlebotomists.
In fact, most needles aren’t much thicker than a human hair! Many clients report not feeling anything at all, while others may feel a slight pressure or heaviness. Essentially, the experience is painless and actually quite relaxing, even for people who dislike needles.
